Meaningful stories,
made with intent
We begin with curiosity, then take the time to understand the people, places and pressures around each story.
Our work has followed drag performers in Nashville, families in Mexico living without reliable water, migrants returning to Bogotá, and communities navigating addiction on the Pacific coast of the
United States.
Some films are made for broadcasters. Some are made with brands, NGOs or cultural organisations. Across all of them, we look for the details that make a story feel lived, not packaged.
Our projects have reached audiences through BBC, PBS, Al Jazeera English, Panasonic and the Olympics.
For us, filmmaking beings with attention: to people, to place, and to the details that reveal what is really at stake. Explore our films.

Who we are
Ospina Jones Studios is led by Oliver Steven Jones and shaped by his creative partnership with his husband, Santiago Torres Ospina.
Between them, they have lived and worked across Australia, Colombia, Mexico, Spain and the UK. That experience shapes how the studio sees stories, works with people, and understands what can get lost when a film travels between places, languages and audiences.
Oliver brings a British editorial background in journalism and documentary. Santiago brings the perspective of a Colombian filmmaker and athropologist.
Together, they give the studio its point of view: close to the ground, careful with context, and attentive to the small details that change how a story is understood.
The studio also works with exceptional collaborators who bring vision, craft and empathy to their practice. Collaboration is where many of our strongest ideas begin.

How we work
We treat documentary as a way of working.
That means taking time to understand the people, places and pressures behind a story before we decide how to film it. We build access through trust, listen for what is not immediately obvious, and pay attention to the cultural context that can easily be lost when a film is made for audiences elsewhere.
Whether we are making an original documentary, a branded film or supporting an international production, we bring the same approach: careful research, strong field judgement, sensitive contributor relationships and a clear sense of the audience the story is trying
to reach.

Let’s tell the story properly. Reach out.
We'd love to collaborate.
